Recently  we  surveyed  368  middle  school  students  on  how  they  spent  the  2012  Spring Festival. 30%  said  they  spent most of  their  time with  their parents visiting  relatives and  friends  while  25% went  traveling with  classmates  or  parents.  45%  of  all  those  surveyed  indicated  that they  just  stayed at home  to do homework. When asked how they felt about the Spring Festival, most said they enjoyed it because of the holiday and lucky money they got, but some felt unhappy because the amount of homework they were given left little time for fun activities. Many students expressed the hope that next year they will have less homework and more free time.

基础写作主要考查学生的语言结构的应用能力，能够应用正确、规范的语言表达特定的内容。

本试题要求学生根据所提供的信息，使用五个句子表达[写作内容]中所提供的全部内容。命题思想是希望考生在表达这些内容时能够：

· 正确使用并列结构、分词短语、介词短语等来整合信息。

Dear mum,

I’ve just received your email expressing your concern that I am being distracted from my studies because of my many after-school activities and the consequences of this for my future.

I appreciate what you say and am sorry to have caused you so much worry. I’m also touched that you understand my reasons for being attracted to such activities.

It is true that I have been spending a lot of time with these groups but please don’t worry. I find that these groups help me to relax, develop my thinking, and actually improve my school performance, although my teacher is right that I do sometimes feel tired in class.

For this reason, and to also relieve you of your worry, I have decided to limit my participation to only two groups this term. This way I can still enjoy the outside activities without it affecting either you or my study performance.

读写任务是有材料作文：要求考生在阅读的基础上写一篇相关主题的作文；注意考查考生的篇章概括和语言表达能力。

本试题要求考生阅读一篇英文短文之后写一封回信，谈谈考生（已假设考生是信中的David）对参加学校社团或俱乐部活动的看法，内容包括：(1) 读信后的感受；(2) 是否赞成

妈妈的观点，并陈述理由；(3) 对妈妈的承诺。

在评分时，应注意以下几点：

1．按照评分标准，实行分析综合法评分；

2.  概括应包括以下要点：

  My mum’s concern / worry about:

（1）my participation in so many after-school activities (or: reason: too many … )

 （2）the effect of this on my study performance (or: being distracted from …)

 （3）its consequences for my future

3.  写作内容应该包括：

（1）读信后的感受：例如，理解妈妈的担忧，感激妈妈对你的理解等；

 （2）是否赞成妈妈的观点，并陈述理由。例如，认为妈妈不必担忧，这些活动有利于你放松、发展思维、提高组织能力与交际能力、提高学习能力及效果等。

 （3）对妈妈承诺，让她放心。例如，平衡好参加社团活动与学习，或少参加活动，多些时间专心学习等等。
